LCpl. Adam Travis Cooper July 15, 1990 – August 16, 2015 Lance Corporal Adam Travis Cooper, age 25, died August 16, 2015 in St. Petersburg, FL.

Adam Travis was born in Omaha, NE on July 15, 1990 to Bryan and Mary (Muldoon) Cooper. Adam was a mischievous and fun loving child who enjoyed little league, Boy Scouts, and playing with his buddies.

Adam moved to Fargo, ND in 2002 with his mom and sister where he joined the track team and loved playing Frisbee golf. Adam had dreams of moving somewhere warm and wanted to become a wake boarder in Florida.

He showed interest in joining the United States Marine Corps from an early age and became a member of the JROTC program his junior year of high school where he developed great skills and became a talented marksman.

He graduated from West Fargo High School in 2008 and later that year left for boot camp. In the 8 years he served in the Marine Corps Adam did one tour in Afghanistan - Operation Enduring Freedom - where he received a meritorious Mast Award.

Adam was a member of the USMC Amphibious Assault Team and was a very accomplished Marine from doing missions all over the world such as Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Australia.

At the time of his death Adam was enlisted as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps stationed at Parris Island, South Carolina. He was just beginning his schooling for Homeland Security and was planning on joining the police academy in the near future.

Adam will be remembered for his quick, infectious smile and his abundant laughter. Adam was always willing to help a friend no matter what the task. He made you feel like you would always have a friend in him. I loved my son's compassion and acceptance for others.

His death was sudden and he had so many things left to do in his precious life. Adam will be loved by all and remembered forever. Adam is survived by his wife, Jamie Lynn Cooper of St. Petersburg, Florida, and two children, Rohan Travis Cooper of St. Petersburg, FL and Cayden May Brandt of Fargo, ND.


Adam also leaves behind his parents, Mary (John) Swanson of Omaha, NE, and Bryan Cooper and friend Susie Schmidt of Belle Plaine, MN; mother-in-law, Danielle Mayberry of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters: Megan Cooper and fiancé Josh Ecklin of Omaha, NE, Krista Tankersley and fiancé Travis Whitmer of Surprise, AZ; little brother Jonathan Schmidt of Belle Plaine, MN; brother-in-law,Robert Todd Ropke II; grandparents, Neil and Judy Cooper of Fairfax, VA and Dennis and Patricia Muldoon of Fargo, ND; stepsiblings: Tyler, Courtney, Hunter, and Jack Swanson; step-grandparents, Pam West and Jack and Donna Swanson; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Adam was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Douglas Mayberry Jr.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE with military honors was held at Anderson Funeral Home, 611 Robert Smalls Pkwy in Beaufort, SC 29906 on September 12, 2015 at 2:00pm. An additional MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held in Omaha on Thursday, September 17th at 5pm at the West Center Chapel.
