Daegan William-Tyeler Page graduated from Millard South High School in 2016 and signed a delayed entry program contract with the Marine Corps in September of 2017. In January 2018, he left Omaha for Boot Camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego.

Throughout his 23 years, Daegan lived life to the fullest. He had a passion for hockey and started playing at a very young age. He played youth hockey from IP to Bantam with the Omaha Hockey Club and all four years of high school as a Westside Warrior. In 2016, the Westside Warriors claimed the high school state championship title. Daegan was a lifelong Chicago Blackhawks fan.

Outside his time on the ice, Daegan loved to spend time outdoors, especially in the water or on a skateboard. Daegan was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Millard and Boy Scout Troop 331. Photography, music, sketching, playing video games, and joking around with friends and family were all hobbies that Daegan continued throughout his life. He had a soft spot for animals of all kinds, but most specifically dogs and, most of all, his three dogs Shyia, Gracie, and Finn.

Daegan loved the brotherhood of the Marines and was proud to serve as a member of the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. In 2019, Daegan deployed with the 31st MEU spending time in Japan, South Korea, Australia, and aboard the USS Ashland. In 2021, Daegan deployed to Jordan and then on to Afghanistan.

Daegan’s service accomplishments included the Expert Marksmanship, Korean Defense Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and The Purple Heart.

Daegan and the other 12 U.S. service members killed at the Kabul Airport on August 26, 2021, were named as Congressional Gold Medal recipients on December 16, 2021.

It has been stated by many, “Daegan was my best friend,” “Daegan was there for me when I really needed someone,” and Daegan was “that guy that always kept us going even when we were in rough times.”

Daegan planned to return home to Omaha in late 2021 and begin lineman training and life as a veteran. Daegan will forever be missed by his parents, Wendy and Craig Adelson and Greg and Jenni Page; girlfriend, Jessica Ellison; siblings, Corey (Kiley) Adelson, Garrett Ross, Mason Page, and Emerson Page; nephew, Wes Adelson; and many other family members and friends.

Daegan will always be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, tough outer shell, curious mindset, and giant heart.
